"Nanantana" is my mom, Kay Simpson, and she's an expert and gifted quilter. Here are just a few samples of her work, for those who haven't had the pleasure before of seeing them.
All God's Critters Quilt
I picked out this pattern in a quilt shop in Galveston before I was even married, and told my mom I wanted to hang this quilt in my future baby's nursery.
Stained Glass Cross Quilt
I have this hanging in my living room. People probably think it's a big religous statement I'm trying to make, but really I just love all the colors in this quilt.
Under the Sea Quilt
My mom made this one specifically for the wall space above the stairs in my townhome. There isn't a good place to hang it in our new house, which is a shame because it's really beautiful.
Boys Frayed Edge Crib Quilt
Mom made two of these for the boys, before they were born.
Dancing Girls Quilt
One of many made for my daughter Aliza.
Dollhouse Quilt
Another one of Aliza's quilts. Each of these 4 sections (the cradle, bath, high chair, and stroller) are a pocket that holds a doll.
I Spy Quilt
Meant for playing "I Spy". I spy bird feeders, I spy cats wearing glasses, I spy wild animals...
Undersea Scene Quilt
A smaller wall hanging
Blue Striped Quilt
This is a queen sized bedspread, and great for snuggling.
